Pownce will close.
It is a bit sad, the service was not that long around, but very nice. It was different to twitter, didn't had the feel of hype as twitter has.

This could be because somehow it was possible to meet other people on pownce, which was a nice experience. People who click in link in a pownce post stayed much longer on the site and on each page compared to twitter. Read more

Friendfeed is the water and twitter is the pipe to supply it. That's how Ed Dale describes Friendfeed. It is a great social networking tool.
