amazon immune against global crises

the online store amazon has had some good news to report. Its profits rose by 9% in the last quarter of 2008 and the revenue even increased by 18% to $6.7bn.
This I call good news !
These are news to focus on and they are encouraging when starting or having an online business. To all The entrepreneurs, take this news as an encouragement. Amazon was not build over night, not the fast track from zero to a billion $$$ in 3 month. It was build with a vision, a goal and determination. It is a perfect example of what can be reached when online businesses listen to customers, offering what people want at a good value.
And amazon is a great place for everyone to get ideas about what is right now hot, what people want and how it should be presented. Just by looking at the categories, there is a wealth of niches to start one own online business.
Besides amazon, ebay is the place to find out what is hot and what people want. The auction listings are a great indicator of what people are searching for, what sells and what is currently in higher demand.
Mix that with what you find on amazon and you can end up with a long list of potential niche markets.
