Pre-Tomorrow's Reality: Goals

By Andrew - Posted on 03 May 2008

The past two days I was talking about Get ready to Change and Get Focus. Today is about "Goals". Goals are very important not only in business, but in all other areas as well. People want to go on vacation, get excepted at a great university, buy a car, join a team or loose weight. As you can see on the last goal it is sometime hard or can not easy achieved.

To make a goal can be easy - just look at loosing weight. A lot of people make goals, everyday, only a few reach it. How come? There are several factors that contribute to the outcome - to make it or not. One is that the goal is to general, like loosing weight, better would be loose 10lbs. An other factor is that there is no plan.

What you got to do?
Set a goal that is very precise and you identify with. You must be able to believe in it, it must be important to you, so important that you are willing to adjust your efforts to reach it. Lets imagine you want to create a website, not any website, but a website that is showing how you loose your 10lbs. Every day you make a picture of yourself and put it on your website together with our weight. You will take the picture and weigh yourself everyday between 6 and 8 am. After you lost 3, 5 and 8 lbs you reward yourself. Once you reached 10lbs you will buy new cloth. This is now a very precise goal and also it shows step by step goals to reach the main goal.

Of course there are more factors and we will go deeper into them once we start our series "Tomorrow's Reality". Please leave a comment and share your thoughts.
