6 Tips on Picking an Outsourcing Provider

Here are some tips to help you choose the right provider for your project. You want the right person to complete your job to the standard you require and on time.

1. Do they understand your requirement completely?
Have a chat to them via email, skype or through the message board on which some of the outsourcing sites offer.  Send them a video of what you want, show them examples of the type of work you expect.
2. Never choose a provider based on money alone.
Remember that providers are from many different countries. Currency changes from country to country so what isn't a lot in one country may be a lot in another. Look at all factors when choosing a provider not just the bottom line of what it will cost in dollars.
3. Can this person complete your task on time?
Ask how much time the provider can spend per day on your project. This will tell you if they are working on many projects at once which could be a bad sign for your project. How will they finish your project if they are trying to meet other deadlines?
4. Asking for a sample of their work when they bid on your project is a good idea.
If they don't follow this simple instruction, then don't award them the project. For example if you want some articles written, ask for 5 original articles they have written on different topics.
5. Look at the type of projects the provider has completed in the past.
Would you what someone designing a complete website for you if they have only designed company logos in the past?
6. How many reviews does the provider have?
Read through the reviews. What did buyer like about this provider? Do they have a high rating? Don't always dismiss providers who have the skills and answer all your requirements but don't have many reviews. They may be new to the outsourcing site. They can sometimes work a lot and for less just to build a reputation, improve their portfolio, increase their ratings on the outsourcing site for the future and receive nice feedback. They want to please the buyer so may work extra hard just to keep you happy.
