Google and Yahoo Share Ads

The two biggest search engines, Google and Yahoo, will enter a two week alliance that are great news for all Google Adwords and Yahoo publisher users. For the time up to 24 April 2008 Google and Yahoo will share advertising space on there websites.

All Google adwords users should listen up to this news and I suggest take action. Even so only 3% of the Yahoo search results will carry adsense ads, but just imagine your ad is among these 3% ! The ad you have written, rewritten and fine tuned suddenly will be shown to a wide group of search engine users. All of a sudden your ad can reach 90% of all search requests placed online through search engines.

Yes, Google and Yahoo cover about 90% of the search advertising market. You don't believe me? Fine, lets find out what Brad Smith from Microsoft's General counsel has to say, "Any definitive agreement between Yahoo and Google would consolidate over 90% of the search advertising market in Google's hands. This would make the market far less competitive."

I suggest you to go to your adsense account and have a good look at your running ads. Look at the stats very close for the coming two weeks and take any note of a yahoo website that carry your ad. At the same time I advise you to have a good look what happens on the other end, there where your ads url is pointing to. If possible track the your ads url to see where traffic came from. Imagine what kind of valuable information you can get. Any click from a Yahoo website featuring your ad can help you finding a greater audience and has the potential to drive more traffic to your site.

Just make sure your adwords budget is set right. If you set it very high thinking you are save, you might have an other look, making sure you do not overspend.

Why is Yahoo doing that?
The move to have this experiment might be driven to get Microsoft to pay more than the $44.6bn to buy them. "Yahoo has made a really clever move here," Cowen and Co analyst Jim Friedland said and investors reacted positively to this announcement.

Let's take action the time is running and every minute you spend elsewhere instead of getting your adwords account checked and ready will play in the hand of your competitor. Who knows your competition read this information as well and is taking action already. Don't stay behind, act now.
